Perinton Historical Society

The Perinton Historical Society began as a research organization founded by ten women in 1935 and was incorporated in 1950.

For over 85 years, documents, images and artifacts pertinent to the history of Perinton and Fairport have been collected and preserved. Many items in the collections date back to the mid-nineteenth century.

Our Mission is to promote interest in preserving and sharing local history. Our vision is to be the leading, widely recognized community resource for promoting and instilling a sense of local history.

What we’re all about

  • Maintenance of the Fairport Museum and free access to its extensive collections and research documents
  • Acquisition and preservation of historical artifacts, documents and images
  • Monthly educational programs for adults and children featuring dynamic speakers and Museum tours
  • Historic tours of Fairport neighborhood homes, cemeteries and landmarks
